Note: My husband has been listening to many hours of me playing and practicing the piano since 1993 when we first met. It's interesting how pieces of music that speak to me and to my colleagues as classically trained pianists have little if any impact on him (he is a very talented engineer). The ecstasy of being in love in Debussy's "L'isle Joyeuse," the deeply meditative state in Schubert's G-flat Impromptu, the virtuosic passages in Liszt's piano concerto no.1, etc.--none won his heart other than this simple, pleasant piece by Yiruma to which my former high school students introduced me. As far as I can remember, this is the only piece I played that made my husband actually stopped by my studio to tell me how much he liked it and wondered who composed it.
