Biography (Short Version)
Pianist, Composer, Teacher & Psychologist (PhD)
Apart from a 2-year hiatus during her PhD training in psychology, Emilie Lin performed actively from the time she moved to the United States from Taiwan at age 14 until she started a family. She maintains her performance skills through performing occasionally at University of Michigan, and at PianoTexas International Festival & Academy (2007 & 2019).
While Emilie enjoys performing classical music the most, she listens to a variety of genres. Since 2020, Emilie has been composing beyond educational piano music published by The FJH Music Company. She now composes instrumental music and accessible piano music in a variety of styles to expand her artistic expressions. Some of her contemporary influencers are Ennio Morricone, John Barry, David Foster, David Brubeck, George Shearing, Enya, Jef Martens, Ludovico Einaudi, Thomas Bergersen, Alexis Ffrench, and Joseph Koo Kar-Fai.
